Mew - old 2008 costume

This was my first full mascot costume, made back in 2008 for Minamicon 14.

Mew is my favorite Pokemon, and is just so cute I couldn't resist trying to make a costume of it... however, the material I used probably wasn't the best choice for a first costume - I chose to use a super-soft very short pile velvet-like material to create the effect of Mew's 'microscopic' but soft fur, and learnt that this velvet-type material unfortunately does not translate well into costume. But it was fun to make and to wear to Minamicon... so much so that I may decide to make another Mew costume in the future. ^^

The tail, when stretched out to it's full length, is about 5"6' - which is just over 5 inches taller than me. ^^
